Most of my currently is about wishing we had just a little more summer. I've had such a great time spending my summer with family, friends and in some really cool and new places. But it's soon to end... and I'll get back to the grind of working.
I also need to start running more because I have a half marathon in November!
Wow, a half marathon! I am impressed. I, too, would like a longer summer!
ReplyDeleteI am greedy too...I would love a longer summer because I was under the weather for a few weeks. That's nice that you don't go back until the 20th...jealous!!

November is a great month to run a half! The temperatures are a bit cooler. Enjoy!

There is nothing wrong with being a bit greedy about wanting more summer, only cuz I don't want to be in the wrong! :)
ReplyDeleteBrooks has some fun color combinations. Good luck finding running shoes and running the half!
I think it's so interesting reading these posts about how teachers in the US go back before their kids. Do you get paid? We don't have that here in B.C, Canada. We just go without pay....
ReplyDeleteI mean, I'm salaried so I get paid, but I don't get paid any extra for going back early or get paid hourly on top of my salary. Luckily my school district stretches out my salary through the summer so I haven't had to go without that paycheck yet!
DeleteSooo...you spell your name exactly like my sister does and I have never seen anyone else spell it that way!! So cool! She is also a runner and has done half marathons before. Me? Not so much. I gave you guys credit - good luck!

A half marathon! Good for you!! I am impressed! :)
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower! I have taught second grade for the past 10 years, but I am moving to 4th grade next year so I can job share to be home more with my daughter. :) I love your blog! :)

I love teaching fourth grade and I really think you'll love it too! I know a few people who have gone from 2nd to 4th and see a world of difference as far as student independence goes!
DeleteI am alllllll about summer! Woo hoo summer! I have rebelled and refused to work on school anything and I am good with that :)
ReplyDeleteSame here! All about the break from even thinking about school!
DeleteI love me some Top Chef, though I always find that I am so hungry during that show! :-) Hope that your date was wonderful and that the food was fabulous. Date nights are awesome! Enjoy these first few weeks of August and have a super fabulous school year!

Hey, Caitlyn! I'm a 4th grade teacher, too! Loved your "currently" post. Your surprise steakhouse date sounds super sweet {and delicious...kinda hungry here!}. I feel myself getting greedy with my short remaining time, too. We also return on the 20th, but kids attend that same week. Where has summer gone?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIt's Elementary, My Dear!
Aren't you just loving having 1 1/2 weeks of planning before the kids come back (insert slightly sarcastic tone)? I was fine with a week, but this extra business drive me crazy. We go back on the 21st with kids starting Sept. 2. I want my other two days of summer back!!
ReplyDeleteOkay. Finished whining. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
